UFC: Where Are They Now? MIKE SWICK (2023)

   Mike Swick is a UFC Veteran with a career spanning several years in the elite organization between 2005 - 2015. He competed in light heavyweight, middleweight and welterweight and also fought for the WEC belt before appearing on the first season of The Ultimate Fighter.

   After retiring from the organization he moved to Phuket - Thailand where he owns and runs his own gym AKA Thailand.

   In 2022 UFC wanted to do a story on him, and one of his new passions is freediving. I was brought in to capture video of Mike doing freediving training together with his friends aboard a luxurious yacht outside Phuket - Thailand.

   Other big names were there too, with heavyweight Bob Sapp and influencer Dan Bilzerian joining on the yacht and the latter also attending freediving. Local Freediving Instructor and underwater photographer Tony Myshlyaev was busy teaching and shooting.

​   I was capturing underwater video on breath hold, going up and down the line with Mike and his friends while they were training and playing. Doing underwater video on breath hold adds challenges compared to filming on scuba, especially as you don't get to recover as much as the others who are going up and down a fixed line one by one, while I'm trying to film everybody.
